Review: Murder in an Irish Pub

Murder in an Irish Pub Murder in an Irish Pub by Carlene O'Connor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Great Read

This was an enjoyable read. This is the fourth book of An Irish Village Mystery series. This cozy mystery series takes place in the village of Kilbane, County Cork, Ireland. I thought this series is getting better and better in my opinion. In this book, the #1 poker star in Ireland is found dead by apparent suicide from the Rory Mack’s Pub. It is up to Siobhan to figure out who did it without revealing all of her cards, or she could be the next target. I thought the story was great. I enjoyed the mystery. I thought the story was fast-paced and engaging. I enjoyed the O'Sullivan family. My favourite is Siobhan O'Sullivan because she is feisty and relatable. I loved the family dynamic and how they were there for each other. I cannot wait to read book five. Murder in an Irish Cottage, here I come. Overall, a great read.

Review: Memory Lane

Memory Lane Memory Lane by Becky Wade
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Great Read

This was an enjoyable read. This is the first book of the Sons of Scandal series. In this book, we meet Remy, our heroine who relocated in a small town in Maine after a traumatic experience. One day, she discovers a man swimming in the water struggling. She rescued him, and find out that he has amnesia. As he recovers, we see more and more unravel about his past and their romance blossoms. I thought the story was sweet and heartwarming. Also, I really liked that there was a mystery added in the story. To be honest, I really loved the characters. Remy is a strong heroine. She is artistic, smart, and caring. Jeremiah “Jonah” Camden is another strong character. During his amnesia days, he was known as “Jonah,” until his real name was revealed. I thought his story was more interesting as we had more mystery surrounding who he was, and when he would get his memory back? Also, I thought their romance was sweet and genuine. As this is a Christian Fiction, I thought it was great, but I thought there could have been a better focus on faith and the knowledge that God’s timing is always perfect. The ending was sweet. Overall, a great read.

Review: The Key to Love

The Key to Love The Key to Love by Betsy St. Amant
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Okay Read

Actual Rating: 2.5

This was an alright read. This is my first Betsy St. Amant book. In this book, we meet Bri Duval, a baker in Story, Kansas, who becomes viral after a video posted of her locked wall she created gets her a feature in Trek Magazine. Then she meet Gerard. The story was not as engaging as I thought it would be. I think it is because I did not connect with Bri. As the main character, I found her character to be rude and arrogant towards Gerard and I wondered why. I thought she should have been more understanding and compassionate. Gerard was a better character. I thought he was sweet and sarcastic at the same time. I liked him more than Bri. The ending was good. Overall, an okay read.
